Local Business Spotlight: Oak Cliff Pilates
Last month, Oak Cliff Pilates generously hosted a complimentary Pilates class for Vickery Place residents and has quickly become an integral part of the Lower Greenville community.
Oak Cliff Pilates proudly opened its flagship Lower Greenville studio in September 2025. After five years of serving the Dallas community through its Bishop Arts and Uptown locations, the team was excited to expand into one of Dallas's most vibrant neighborhoods.
Their Lower Greenville location is their largest studio yet, featuring a spacious class area with 14 reformers, a private instruction space, and a dedicated podcast and office area. Oak Cliff Pilates is committed to building community through movement and believes Pilates should be accessible to everyone. They strive to create an inclusive environment where people of all experience levels feel supported and confident in their wellness journey.

Congratulations to Greg and Parker of 5543 Miller Ave, our latest Yard of the Month winners! Over the past ten years, the couple has thoughtfully transformed their home through an extensive renovation, giving just as much attention to the landscape as they did the house itself. The result is a welcoming property that enhances the character of the neighborhood while creating beautiful outdoor spaces to enjoy throughout the year.
A key part of that transformation has been their collaboration with a landscape architect, Garden Lab, that they absolutely adore, who helped bring their vision to life from the ground up. In addition to designing the planting beds, the project included elegant outdoor lighting and a complete rework of the sprinkler system, ensuring the landscape is both beautiful and efficient. Every element was carefully planned to create an outdoor environment that is just as inviting after sunset as it is during the day.
Their landscape is an excellent example of how to create a lush, colorful garden that’s perfectly suited for North Texas. The planting palette emphasizes drought-tolerant, sun-loving varieties that provide texture, seasonal color, and long-term resilience. Favorites include black-eyed susan’s and tea roses whose pink blooms create a spectacular display each year. Evergreen structure comes from shrubs like holly and boxwoods while ornamental grasses, calla lilies, geraniums, and calibrachoa soften the landscape with color and movement throughout the seasons. Together, these selections prove that water-wise gardening can be every bit as vibrant and eye-catching as a traditional landscape.
Greg and Parker’s home is a wonderful reminder that thoughtful planning and the right plant choices can create a landscape that is both sustainable and stunning. Their investment in quality design, efficient irrigation, and climate-appropriate plants has resulted in exceptional curb appeal and an outdoor space that will continue to flourish for years to come. Congratulations again to Greg and Parker on being named our Yard of the Month—and thank you for helping make Vickery Place an even more beautiful place to call home!

Pet of the Month: In Memoriam
The article below was written before Daisy’s passing. We want to recognize Daisy for the sweet pet she was and memorialize her for her family who will miss her.
Daisy was a dog trapped in a cat's body. She was around 10 years old, with her official breed being anyone's guess. Her favorite game was "Hand Under the Tablecloth," and she would never turn down a Temptations Purrrée treat, or a little catnip.
Daisy loved spending time outdoors and was always happy to join a dog on a walk.
Daisy's family has called Vickery Place home since 1997, but Daisy didn't become part of the household until 2017, when the people house-sitting mistakenly thought she belonged there. As it turned out, everyone agreed that's exactly where she was meant to be.
Daisy will be greatly missed.
