🌷Yard of the Month - 5301 Miller Ave🪻

A warm Vickery Place welcome — and a big round of applause — to Bev and her adorable pup, Bailey, our November Yard of the Month winners! Though they’ve only been part of the neighborhood for a little over a year, you’d never know it by looking at their picture-perfect home. Bev has transformed her house into a warm, welcoming retreat that radiates charm and care.
Her front yard bursts with a stunning ombré landscape of purple, pink, red and white pentas- also known by their more exotic name Egyptian star flowers— a beautiful blend that catches the light just right at sunset. Sun-tolerant hedges and a lush stretch of zoysia grass create a crisp, polished frame for her brick walkway, leading to a spacious front porch that’s just made for fall evenings. The mix of color and texture reflects both Bev’s creative touch and Bailey’s cheerful energy
Now that cooler weather has arrived, Bev has fully embraced the season with cozy porch furniture, cheerful croton blooms, and a lineup of pumpkins that feel right at home against her brick steps. Together, Bev and Bailey have turned their lovely house into a home that perfectly embodies the welcoming spirit of Vickery Place. Congratulations, Bev and Bailey!
We are excited to award Bev the honor of winning November 2025’s Vickery Place Yard of the Month. We are grateful to Northaven Gardens for their sponsorship and providing our winner with a $50 gift card!

Pets of the Month - Moose & Millie
Congratulations to our November Pets of the Month!

This month's VPNA Pets of the Month are Moose & Millie! These adorable pups will be receiving free passes to Barking Hound Village from our neighbors, Lisa & Jeremy Jones, who have lived in Vickery Place for 16 years.
Moose and Millie are micro goldendoodles that live on Miller Avenue! They are brother and sister and have the same parents but were born in different litters. Moose just turned 3 and Millie just turned 2. They love to walk around Vickery Place, bark at other dogs (they are sorry), and eat lots of treats! In September, they embarked on their biggest adventure yet: becoming big siblings to our first baby, Monroe! They are loving their little sister and the cooler weather! Please say hi if you see them out and about!

🦃Thanksgiving Bag Drive for Geneva Heights🦃
Help support our Geneva Heights teachers and families this Thanksgiving!
Ginny Roe, who is leading the Peace Pantry at Geneva Heights this year, is organizing a Thanksgiving Bag Drive to provide meals for students and teachers in need — and she could use our help.
If you’d like to participate, please consider putting together a complete Thanksgiving bag using the list below.
🛍 Each bag should include:
- Reusable bag (Trader Joe’s or HomeGoods have great sizes)
- $15 grocery store gift card for a turkey
- Baking tray for turkey
- 2 cans corn
- 2 cans green beans
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can onion strings
- 1 box/bag instant mashed potatoes
- 1 jar or packet of gravy
- 1 box/bag stuffing mix or dressing
- 1 box mac and cheese
- 1 can cranberry sauce
- 1 bag/tray of rolls
- 1 shelf-stable dessert or dessert mix
🕓 Drop-off deadline: Friday, November 15
📍 Drop-off location: Porch of Matt and Sandee Jennings, 6314 Llano
Ginny will distribute the bags the following week before Thanksgiving break.
The BACD community has already committed to donating 20 bags, but we still need at least 22 more — and that number may grow as SNAP/WIC benefits are reduced starting this Saturday.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference and is deeply appreciated. 💛

Porch Pirates on the Prowl

With the approaching Holiday season, beware of porch pirates and thieves that are on the prowl! Do you part to help keep the whole neighborhood safe by removing packages in a timely fashion, keeping your property illuminated, and keep an eye out for each other. Meet your neighbors and have their contact information in-case you need to ask for their help with picking up a package while you are away. If you are ordering from Amazon, you can leave a note asking them to hide packages behind your pillars or porch furniture.
