October 2020: 5431 Vickery Blvd

Congratulations to our October Yard of the Month - Cassie and Nathan Grider of 5431 Vickery Blvd!

Cassie and Nathan are such fans of the neighborhood that this is actually their third historic remodel. They love the proximity to everything, the look of the neighborhood and homes and perhaps most importantly, the oversized lot! Nathan had been watching this home for years before he had the opportunity to buy it.

A careful remodel by Brian Gream expanded the beauty of the home and created several areas of inspiration. Tried and true plants like pittosporum, holly ferns and purple hearts, punctuated with Japanese maples let the personality of the house shine through. The Grider’s favorite outdoor feature is the lovely front courtyard partially hidden by artistic metal edging, pampas grass and overflowing vines. Cassie says “it’s like a secret garden!” This blend of graceful landscaping with modern elements creates a look of refreshed historical elegance.
