April 2020: 5422 Bonita

Congratulations to our April Yard of the Month – Logan Woodward and his fiancée Ali Brewer of 5422 Bonita! After living in the area for years, they moved into their lovely arts and craft style home in September of 2019 with their dogs Punky and Bruce.

Logan and Ali believe that the yard should be an extension of the inside of the house and have brought their eye for clean, symmetrical lines (with a little bit of funk!) into both the front, back and side yards. A favorite in the front yard is the agave – a theme that they carried into the side yard, exploring a more desert-styled landscaping. Fun fact: agaves are used to make tequila, sugar substitutes and rope.

Their backyard is a playground for their dogs, an outdoor room for hosting family and friends and most recently, an area for them to experiment with raised beds. With four beds they have planted cool season crops like broccoli and kale and have gotten a head start on their summer garden with several varieties of tomatoes. Ali says, “We hope to grow enough food to share!” - good neighbors to know!
