GREEN is the new black—at least this time of year anyway! The 2013 annual Lower Greenville Merchants Association's St. Patrick’s Day block party will take place Saturday, March 16th on Greenville Avenue between Vanderbilt and Vickery—this event happens after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on upper Greenville Avenue. To curb traffic congestion, the City has designated
‘No Parking’ areas for this event with signs placed generally on the north side of all Vickery Place streets.
Grab your hammer and join your neighbors! All VP residents are invited to come help build the St. Pat’s ‘No Parking’ signs on Wednesday March 13, 5618 Richard Avenue, at 6:00 pm (or as soon as you can get there). With approximately 300+ signs to assemble, all extra hands are welcome! Pizza, beer & sodas will be provided.
The ‘No Parking’ signs will be placed in curbs Thursday evening (48 hours prior to the event) however parking restriction does not go into effect till Saturday morning. A word of caution: Remove your car from the NORTH-SIDE of the street before Saturday morning and tell your neighbors to do the same. Cars parked in violation of the no-parking plan will be towed. There will be no exception for residents. (See Traffic/No Parking map)
In need of some St. Patrick’s Day swag? Why not buy some from Vickery Place and help support your neighborhood. Visit www.vickeryplace.com and place an order today! Or pick some up at the sign building party.
