Oak Cliff looking back at Dallas

“East is east and west is west, but never the twain shall meet.”  But they will meet on this tour.  East Dallas and Oak Cliff were separate and individual cities, until they decided to join their big neighbor, Dallas.   The true history of Dallas begins in the White Rock area.  The beauty of Dallas rests in this part of the city.  However, across the river, there is more history and there are more impressive scenes.  The sites in the far west of the city at Mountain Creek Lake are spectacular.

The entrance to Oakland Cemetery is on the east side of Malcolm X, between MLK and Pine, in the 3900 block.  Tour attendees will park inside the cemetery around the circle that features a very tall obelisk (which is straight ahead after entering the cemetery).
